LOreal Splits with McCartney

L'Oreal and Stella McCartney will not continue their license agreement.

L’Oreal’s contract with the Stella McCartney beauty business will end on September 12, 2013 – and the two companies have decided to call it quits. The license agreement will not be renewed.

L’Oreal’s spokesperson said it was a mutual decision. L’Oreal acquired the McCartney in May 2008, as part of the deal to take over YSL Beauté from PPR. The beauty business includes two fragrances, L.I.L.Y. and a signature scent; and the skin care line, Care.
